Bruce Edward Wood

With profound sadness, we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Bruce Edward Wood, on Thursday, December 24, 2020, aged 64.
Bruce was born on October 4, 1956, to William and Shirley Wood. As a boy growing up in Dallas, TX, Bruce developed a love for the outdoors, and for fixing anything he could get his talented hands on. As a young man, Bruce became renowned as a hard-working man who cared greatly for his friends and family. The most pivotal moment in Bruce’s younger life was when he met his future wife, Bonnie Ochoa, at a festive gathering in December, 1976. Bruce and Bonnie were married on April 21, 1979; they spent happy times as a young couple, riding motorcycles around the great state of Texas. Bruce was a loyal husband for 41 years, as well as a loving father to his three children, Jennifer, Jason and Jessica. Bruce had a truly industrious career, putting his renowned craftsman attributes to use in various aspects of home construction. He ran his own company for over two decades and made a lot of lifelong friends along the way. In his later life, Bruce reveled in being a doting grandfather to five grandchildren, who always brought a twinkle to his brilliant blue eyes. Throughout his life, Bruce enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting, gardening and cooking for his family and friends. Bruce’s caring spirit, his sometimes bashful and unassuming demeanor, and his warm smile will be deeply missed.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife Bonnie Wood; son, Jason Wood; daughters, Jennifer Maggard and husband Heath Maggard, Jessica Humphrey and husband Simon Humphrey; brothers, Mike Wood, Cliff Wood and Darren Wood; sisters, Sylvia Rose and Marilyn Wood; grandchildren, Taylor Dieckman, Hayley Dieckman, Camden Maggard, Juliet Humphrey, and Simon Jr. Humphrey.
