Lida Martha Wilson (Urie)

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend - Lida Martha Urie Wilson passed away with her family at her side on April 12, 2022 at the age of 76.

Lida will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Rod; children: Susan (Jeff) and Jennifer (Pete); grandchildren: Tiernan and Declan; sister-in-laws: Judy Sanderson and Linda Wilson; brother-in-laws: David Wilson and Dean Sanderson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lida was preceded in passing by her parents, Opal and Thomas; brother, Tommy (Hazel).

Lida was born on April 30, 1945, to Thomas Alexander and Opal Oneal Gaines Urie. She married Rod Wilson on July 1, 1967.

Lida graduated from Texas Wesleyan where she received her undergraduate degree and began teaching. She taught until her first daughter was born in 1970. She stayed at home with her daughters until returning to teaching in 1985. She taught various grades, but most loved her time teaching 3rd grade in Alvarado.
Lida was an absolutely amazing mother to her two daughters. One thing that always meant a lot to Lida was being a part of things that her daughters were involved in, such as being their Girl Scout leader and being instrumental in their 4-H projects.

In her free time, she loved painting, gardening, reading, decorating, traveling, baking and cooking for family, friends and anyone that came to visit. More than anything, Lida loved her family and friends and spending
time with them. A truly kind, patient, calm, steady, and caring soul that is irreplaceable to all who knew her.
