William "Kim" Houp, born on October 31, 1948, in Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, in Hurst, Texas. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and a beloved member of his community.
Kim was a proud alumnus of the University of Texas at Arlington, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture. Following his education, he dedicated his career to WK Houp Architecture Inc., where his passion for design and meticulous attention to detail left a lasting impact on each project he undertook.
Beyond his professional contributions, Kim was a vibrant personality known for his love of barbershop singing and his delightful ability to tell a good joke. He was a proud member of Calvary Church and actively participated in the Society for the Preservation of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America, sharing his passion for music and camaraderie with his fellow members.
Kim is survived by his loving spouse, Kathy Cook Houp, and their two sons, Jason Houp and his wife Carrie, and Aaron Houp and his wife Jessica. He was a dedicated grandfather to Jordyn, Luke, Emily, and Sarah Houp, as well as a great-grandfather to Presley Houp. His brother, Kent Houp, and sister-in-law Iva, along with extended family and friends including The Jacobs, The Birds, and Frank and Nancy Burney, will also remember him with great fondness.
Visitation services for Kim will take place on February 16, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Skyvue Funeral Home, located at 7220 Rendon Bloodworth Rd, Mansfield, TX. A funeral service honoring Kim’s life will follow on February 17, 2026, at 12:00 PM, also at Skyvue Funeral Home.
Kim Houp’s legacy will be remembered through the love of his family and friends and the joy he brought to those around him. His warm spirit and passion for life will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know him.
