Joe Willie Wilkerson Ii

May 26, 1964 — March 17, 2022

Joe Willie Wilkerson II, of Arlington, Texas, formerly of Huntsville, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the age of 57.

Joe was born on May 26, 1964 to Doris Louise Wilkerson (Bassett) and Joe Willie Wilkerson Sr. in Tacoma, Washington. He grew up in Huntsville, Texas where he graduated from Huntsville High School.

From the moment that Joe was able to work, he started to display an amazing work ethic. He was an incredibly hard working man who enjoyed any job that he had. Joe started out working in the customer service industry as a server and eventually went on to management positions. As a people person, he thrived in this environment. He was a charming individual who always treated his coworkers and customers with respect and was known for always handling every situation with great professionalism. After working many years in customer service, Joe decided to get his forklift certification and began working in different warehouses driving a forklift. This quickly became his passion and what he did until he retired.

Aside from being a hard worker, Joe was an extremely caring man. He had a great respect for people and never met a stranger. Most importantly, family was everything to Joe. He always made sure that everyone knew how much they meant to him by spending time with them. His mother was one of the most important people in his life and he took care of her until she passed in 2017.

Joe loved all thing sports, especially his Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed watching them every Sunday and would sometimes have family over so he could cook and grill for everyone. He always liked to play a game of dominoes, cards, or pool. Joe also loved listening to music and watching Westerns, Looney Tunes, and the Andy Griffith Show. When he wanted to spend time doing something a little quieter, he would go birdwatching. But you could be sure that no matter what he was doing, he always had a cup of coffee in his hand.

Joe was a one of a kind man whose smile would light up any room he walked into and his laughter was contagious. He will be deeply missed by everyone that knew and loved him.
