Walton “Troy” Ray McQuien went to be with the Lord on March 25, 2026.
He was born on July17, 1951, at Camp Lejeune, to his loving parents, Walton H. McQuien and Frances McQuien. In June of 2001, Troy married the love of his life, Stephanie Denise Boswell. He was the best husband and friend she could have ever dreamed of. Troy found great joy in being a loving and devoted husband, father, and proud “Big Daddy.” Family was the center of his world, and he treasured every moment he was able to spend with them.
Troy proudly served his country as a mechanic in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era. After his military service, he went on to have a long and dedicated career as a Surveyor Engineer with the City of Fort Worth, and later with Rangeair, where he eventually retired.
A man of deep faith, Troy devoted himself to studying scripture and cherished his relationship with Jesus Christ. His greatest hope was that everyone would come to know Jesus and experience a personal relationship with Him. Troy would not want anyone to be sad for him, as he is now home with the Lord.
II Timothy 4:7 (NKJV) – I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Troy had many interests and hobbies, especially those that allowed him to work with his hands. He enjoyed gardening, painting, tinkering, and creating something meaningful out of nothing. Caring for his plants brought him peace and joy. He was also fascinated by outer-space and found great wonder in God’s creation of the heavens—the sun, the moon, and the stars.
Troy was preceded in death by his loving parents, Walton H. and Frances McQuien, and his brothers, Richard and Tommy McQuien.
Those left to cherish Troy’s memory include his beloved wife, Stephanie Denise McQuien; his daughters, Marissa Thompson, Wendy McCarty, Leia McQuien, and Evie McQuien; his son, Malachi McQuien, and daughter-in-law, Melissa McQuien; his grandchildren, Lauren, Lacey and her husband, Gavin, Whitney, Alexis, Kayden, Kaleb, Kennedy, Olivia, Kaiser, Alexander, and Sebastian; and his great-grandchildren, Leilani, Isais, Ina, Eion, and Noah. He is also survived by his best friend, James Garner, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Troy’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
