Gary L. Wahlgren

Gary L. Wahlgren, age 77, of Crowley, Texas passed away on December 28, 2022. He was born on July 6, 1945, in Gothenburg, Nebraska to Franklin and Anna Mae (Hines) Wahlgren.
Following his graduation from the University of Nebraska, Gary married the love of his life, Jane (Packer) Wahlgren on June 4, 1967. The newlyweds moved to Boston where Gary earned his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Returning to Lincoln, Nebraska Gary began work at First Mid America Securities. Gary’s career continued with the founding of Commerce Capital, Inc. and Wahlgren Consulting LLC.
He was affiliated with the United Methodist Church, FarmHouse Fraternity, Innocents Society and Chartered Financial Analysts,
Gary was preceded in death by his parents. Gary is survived by his wife Jane, his sister Anne (Wahlgren) and Gary Anderson. Sons: James Wahlgren of Port Republic, Maryland and Jeff and Patty Wahlgren of Omaha. Grandchildren: Samantha Wahlgren, Elisabeth Wahlgren, Steven and Hunter Dworsky, Rachel Wahlgren and Charlotte Wahlgren.
Gary was committed to education and focused his own on Agriculture Economics. He served two years as the president of the Nebraska FFA. In Lieu of Flowers the family requests memorial gifts to the Gothenburg FFA Chapter where funds will go towards helping FFA members start up small entrepreneurships or assist their current supervised agricultural projects/businesses grow.
