Samoila Vlad, of Burleson, Texas, has gone to be with the Lord on July 4, 2024, at the age of 81.
Samoila was born in Boz, Alba, Romania, on January 1, 1943, to Gheorghe and Ana Vlad. He married Doina Neagu in Miercurea Sibiului, Romania, on November 22, 1965. As it was mandatory in the communist Romania, before his marriage he served in the military for two years and then for most of his career he worked as a truck driver for many food manufacturing companies. Soon after his retirement, in 2002 he moved to Vancouver WA to be closer to his children and grandchildren; whom he dearly loved.
Most of his life was marked by tumult; however, in 2003 he had a real encounter with Jesus and his life was forever changed. The bible became his daily companion. Through the scripture God spoke to him, strengthened him, and gave him joy. He was known for his hospitality and love for God’s creation. He loved gardening, hunting and fishing.
Samoila is preceded in death by his parents, Gheorghe and Ana Vlad; his sister, Ana Neag.
Samoila is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Doina Vlad; his daughters, Doina and Daniel, Gabriela and Stefan; his son, Daniel and Lidia; his grandchildren, Rebeca and Joshua, Lidia and James, Deborah, Joshua and Diana, Sandra and Joseph, Edward, Matthew, Andrew, Jonathan, Sarah and Daniel; his great-grandchildren, Beatrice, Lucy, Benedict, Dominic, Jude, Rachel, Luca, Rose, Arriete, Eloise, and Simon.
