Mary Elizabeth Turner (Kitty) went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at the age of 82.
Mary was born December 31, 1938, in Post, Texas to Chesley Guy Howell and Lellar Leona Barnett. She married Jackson Eliase Turner January 9, 1954, in Clovis, New Mexico. She worked for Portion Trol in Mansfield, Texas, JC Penney in Cleburne, Texas, and Radio Shack Customer Service for 10 years. She was recognized as Employee of the Year and was awarded an all expense paid trip to Cancun, Mexico. It was a trip of a lifetime for her and Jack. Their first trip ever out of the country. She had an eighth-grade education and received her GED in her late 50’s. Mary attended Bisbee Baptist Church and enjoyed bird watching and especially loved hummingbirds.
Chapel Service: 2:00 pm Friday, September 17, 2021, at Skyvue Funeral Home in Mansfield, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jackson E. Turner; Son-in-laws, Joseph Shockley and Hubert (Hebe) Race; Sister, Maude Alice (Sis) Howell; Brothers, Albert Howell, Chesley Guy Jr., (Sonny) Howell, and Jack (Buddy) Howell.
Those left to cherish her memory and continue her legacy are her daughters, Shirley Race, Joy Thompson and Lenora Shockley; son, Michael Turner and his wife Cora Turner; sister, Ruby Rowell; grandchildren, Tejae Race and spouse Jenn Race, Brittany Thompson, Timmy Thompson and spouse Melayna Thompson, Emily Woolsey, Shane Turner and spouse Allyson Fitzgerald; great-grandchildren, Lilly Cochran, Jaxon Race, Axell Race, Madalyn Thompson, Xander Horton and Jax Horton along with numerous other loving family and friends.
