Tommy Williams Sr.

March 19, 1947 — March 3, 2025

Arlington

On March 3rd, 2025, Tommy Wayne Williams, 77, of Mansfield, TX, passed away peacefully surrounded by his four children and dearest family members. Our Lord and Savior welcomed him to Heaven and he was reunited with his loved ones. While on Earth his loved ones weep, Heaven rejoices as he has found eternal rest.

Tommy was born on March 19th, 1947, in Arlington, TX to Mary Jo Williams Tepfer, though he was raised by his loving grandmother, Jennie Daniel Williams. He graduated from Arlington High School and was a jack of all trades but primarily worked as a homebuilder and bricklayer. He lived in Mexico for a couple of years for work as he helped to build a hotel in Playa Del Carmen. Locally, he was a part of building new homes in Tarrant County, working alongside his brothers. He even briefly ventured into the restaurant and entertainment industry. In his free time, he would enjoy golfing which he is enviously remembered for how far he could outdrive anyone that he played with. He also loved to gamble, whether that be through lottery tickets, slot machines, or playing poker. He loved a trip to Las Vegas or Winstar or even the average poker game at home with family and friends. He was a competitive soul and loved to win, anyone that knows him would probably agree to that statement. His determined and tough spirit led him to one of his favorite pastimes during his younger years, boxing. Boxing set his soul on fire and through the Golden Glove of America organization, he was a five-time Golden Glove winner. His love for gambling and boxing ran deep, but no win compared to the love and joy he had for his four children.

He was known for his giving spirit whether that meant blessing his family members or even someone that he had just met, his heart had no limit. He loved to travel and see new places. He also never missed an opportunity to watch his son, Tommy, race at Kennedale Motor Speedway. He will be remembered through the memories that his loved ones hold close and for how clever he was- some might even use the word sneaky.

He was met in Heaven with open arms by loved ones. He was preceded in death by mother Mary Jo Tepfer; grandmother Jennie Williams, sisters Beverly Cagle and Debbie Hoover, brother Mikey Tepfer. He was also preceded in death by his soulmate Sheri Miller, who he loved and missed dearly.

Tommy’s legacy will live on through his cherished family and dear friends. He is survived by his four children, daughters Tammy Stephenson and husband Robbie, and Carole Williams, sons Tommy Williams Jr. and wife Kelli, and Ryan Williams; his brothers, Larry Tepfer and Archie Tepfer and wife Phyllis; his sisters, Brenda Smith and Barbara Tepfer.

He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Cory Stephenson and wife Taylor, Tarrin Albadri and husband Mike, Payton Fussell, Cortlyn McDougal and husband William, Chase Stephenson, Chance Stephenson, Allyson Williams, and Tommy Williams III. In Addition, he is survived by 6 great-grandchildren, Zane, Izaac, Noah, Levi, Blakelyn, and Casey.

The Celebration of Life will be held at Skyvue Funeral Home in Mansfield, TX on March 7th, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Following the service, there will be a graveside burial at Parkdale Cemetery in Arlington, TX at 12:00 pm.

Tommy now resides in Heaven after a long fight with Parkinson’s. He fought the good fight, and the family finds comfort in knowing that he is made new.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
