Tomasa Abalos 92, the beloved matriarch of our family, went home to be with the Lord on September 9, 2025. Born on June 9, 1933, in Fort Stockton, Texas, she lived a life of faith, love, and strength that guided and blessed all who knew her.
She was known for her unwavering devotion to her family. As the matriarch, she nurtured generations with wisdom, love, and grace. Her life reflected the words of Proverbs 31: "Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her."
Tomasa dedicated her life to her family and her community, pouring love into her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her joy was found in being present, supportive, and steadfast, leaving behind a legacy rooted in strength and love.
She is survived by her children:
-Henry Abalos Jr. and his wife Elma of Bandera, Texas
-Larry Abalos and his wife Brenda of Odessa, Texas
-Priscilla Townsend and her husband Craig of Alvarado, Texas
-Joshua Abalos and his wife Angelica of Odessa, Texas
She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Joey, Jennifer, Mason, Jacob, Aaron, Michelle, Matthew, Jason, Ashley, Sara, Sariah, Peter Woods, and Debra Flores, Sean Burnett along with numerous great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward.
She was preceded in death by her loving Husband Henry Abalos; her parents, Consuelo and Silvario; her daughter, Gloria Taylor; her son, Armando Abalos; and all of her brothers and sisters.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Rankin, Texas, on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Rankin Cemetery.
The family is deeply grateful for the prayers, support, and love shown during this time.
