With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Tizana “Zana” Johnson, who was born on February 24, 1954, in Tyler, Texas and departed this life peacefully on May 4, 2026.
She was the daughter of Annie Ruth Arps and Willie Earl Kennedy. Tizana dedicated 38 years of service to General Motors, where she was respected for her strong work ethic and commitment. Tizana was known for her warm heart, honest spirit, and outspoken nature, always sharing her thoughts with love and authenticity. She especially loved spending time with her family and enjoyed going out to eat and making memories with the people she loved most. Most who encountered her loved her and often looked to her as a mother figure because of her love, the way she kept it real, and her honesty and bluntness. Her strength, love and presence touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory: three daughters, Shalonda Johnson (Omaha, NE) Delise Johnson (Arlington, TX), and Tanekia Johnson (Crowley, TX); one son, Tony Johnson (Arlington, TX); a son by love, Markis Coleman (Auburn Hills, MI); eight grandchildren, N’Keia Terrell, Ariyon Johnson, Tyriek Johnson, Jalen Debose, Javion Johnson, Kamari Johnson, Zanari Johnson, and Bella Brown, all of Arlington, TX; two great-grandchildren, Trenton Johnson and Trinity Johnson; and four siblings, three sisters, Delphine Arps and Janice Bradley (Omaha, NE), Alecia Kennedy (Dallas, TX) three brothers, Myron Arps and Audra Arps all of Omaha, NE; Elliott (Kira) Kennedy (Mansfield, TX) and a host of other beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jacquetta Johnson; her mother, Annie Arps; her grandparents, Carl Johnson Sr. and Ruth Johnson; her sisters, Laree Ballard and Yolanda Kennedy; and many other beloved family members.
