Inez Thompson

Inez Marie Snell was born on May 9, 1929 to the union of Sawnee and Roberta V. Snell. She was the youngest of the four children, two boys and two girls. They lived in Valley Mills, Tx. where she attended school. Later moved to Ft Worth, Tx to a sub-division known as Greenway located near the Downtown area. Both parents resided in that area until their passing.

Inez later married Priestly Thompson. From this union two sons and a daughter were born. They were divorced after several years.
She was employed with Washer Brothers down town Ft Worth for 16 Years, Leonard Department Store and CR Anthony's where she retired from. She loved working in retail.

Ms. Thompson accepted Christ into her life with full dedication. She joined Corinth Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Tx. She and others started a group called Young Women’s Circle in 1977. Our mother's relationship with Jesus was a living one. She walked and talked with him, enjoying sweet communion with him daily. She prayed with passion, power, understanding, and many tears. She fully committed herself to worship, prayer, singing of hymns, and reading the bible. Inez loved us all and pointed us in the direction of her greatest treasure, Jesus Christ. Her purpose in life was fulfilled by her service within God's ministry and her devotion to God. Some people misunderstood her but one thing they did know for sure is how she loved and served God.

On Tuesday November 21, 2017 God called our mother home. Just before she died she was singing hymns she learned in her younger days. Hymns about heaven and the joy of meeting her maker. She often spoke of her family especially her siblings, about how they use to sing with each other. Before she entered into the presence of the Lord she encouraged those with her to love Jesus and serve him faithfully all of their days.

She was proceeded in death by: her brother George W. Snell (GW), mother Roberta V Snell, father Sawnee Snell, brother Sawnee Cortez Snell Jr, sister Ida Mae Griffin.

Her legacy lives with:

Her sons Priestly Earl Thompson (deceased); Kenneth Darrell Thompson; her daughter Cherri Lynnette Green (Sam) Our oldest brother Charles Lewis Thompson.

Grandchildren; Lisa Inez Marie Thompson (Taylor & Darien); Shamora K. Mitchell; Priestly Thompson II (Monica); Jheron Thompson.
