Thomas Matthew Theobald

February 14, 1969 — November 15, 2023

Arlington, Texas

Thomas Matthew Theobald, 54, of Weatherford, TX, was called to Heaven on November 15, 2023, after an 8 1/2 year battle with colon cancer.

Tom was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on February 14, 1969, to Joseph Theobald and Margaret Kelly. He was the second of four children. In his early childhood he became a die-hard Steelers fan. In 1978, the family moved to DFW, where he spent most of his life in and around Weatherford, TX.

Tom was a laid-back guy whose humor could keep you laughing for days. After high school he had various jobs in warehouse and delivery. Tom loved all things sports related. You could ask him about any sport from football to golf, and everything in between, and he would have an answer. He loved reading, listening to country music, going to the lake and hanging out with family and friends. After his diagnosis, Tom would participate in the Colon Cancer Coalition 5k's, and encouraged everyone to get screened early. Tom was a fighter. His optimism is what helped push him through all of life's punches. He will be dearly missed.

Tom is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Kelly.

He is survived by his daughter, Katelynn Theobald; father, Joseph Theobald and wife Diane; brother, Joseph Theobald Jr.; sisters, Michele Elwell and husband Lucas, Heather Shook and husband Terry and their children Haley, Hannah, Maddie and Matthew Shook; step brothers, Danny Carr and wife Viviana, Mac Carr and wife Marjorie; aunts, Beth Bovio, Patti Strack and husband Bob; uncles, Larry Kelly, Bob Kelly and Bill Kelly, Bill Theobald and wife Regina, Jamie Theobald and wife Shelly; grandfather, William J. Kelly and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

In lieu of flowers the Theobald family would like donations to be made to ColonCancerCoalition.org
