Louise Thomas, a native of Texarkana, Arkansas was born May 31, 1929. She moved to Dallas, Texas at an early age and attended Booker T. Washington Jr. and Sr. High School. Later she moved to Fort Worth, Texas around 1946. In January 1947, Louise gave birth to her first child, Toni Jones. She worked at Gertrude Chicken as a cook and at Hornbuckle’s Café as a bartender etc... After years of having one child, Louise started another family, two girls and four boys. Aaron and Jerome who were two years apart, Arnitha, Kenneth, Yvonne and Lee Arthur Thomas. They were the joy of her life. She was a talented woman who could paint and design her own clothing before she contracted Parkinson’s. Louise changed her career and started working for Sanger Harris Department Store and later at Foley’s where she retired after 20 years. She was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Worth. After her retirement, Louise enjoyed spending time with her children and other family members. She carried a rod of correction for her children when they were growing up and even after they were grown. She never stopped teaching and correcting.
Preceded in death by two sons: Aaron Thomas and Lee Arthur Thomas along with her mother, father and one sibling.
Survivors: Toni Jones (Claudell), Jerome Thomas, Arnitha Hunter, Kenneth Thomas and Yvonne Jones (Derrick); Two grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends who will miss her dearly.
