In Loving Memory of Talieha Natarah Persad
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Talieha Natarah Persad on July 17, 2026.
Above all else, Talieha was a devoted mother. Her sons, Nicolas and Daniel ("Peanut"), were the center of her daily life and her greatest source of pride. She loved her children deeply and worked hard to give them the best she could.
Talieha had a personality all her own. She was witty, independent, stubborn at times, and far softer than she often let people see. She loved Halloween, was a loyal Green Bay Packers fan, made unforgettable fajitas, and could happily watch the same movies and listen to the same songs over and over. She had a generous spirit and loved surprising family and friends with thoughtful gifts. She also enjoyed playing practical jokes, especially on her brother.
Her greatest gift was caring for others. Talieha devoted herself to being a caregiver for her father and her brother, serving them with extraordinary patience, strength, and love. She also shared a lifelong bond with her mother, Sandra. Like many mothers and daughters, their relationship wasn't always easy, but beneath every disagreement was an unwavering love and commitment to one another. Although life took Talieha and her sister, Shahida, in different directions, their love for one another never faded. They stayed connected in their own way, often exchanging silly videos that brought smiles and laughter. Talieha also adored her nephew, Fenric, and treasured the special times they shared.
For thirteen years, Talieha shared a meaningful part of her life with Daniel. Although their relationship had changed, he remained a source of comfort, care, and support throughout her illness. Daniel and his family, especially his mother, Lydia, continued to show Talieha kindness, compassion, and love during one of the most difficult times in her life. Our family is deeply grateful for the care and support they provided.
Talieha was preceded in death by her father, Karel, and her brother, Mitchael. She carried their memories with her and honored them through the love and care she gave throughout their lives.
Talieha will be remembered for her strength, generous heart, sense of humor, and unwavering love for her family. She is survived by her children, Nicolas, Daniel ("Peanut"), and Austin; her mother, Sandra; her sister, Shahida and Shahida’s partner, Damion; her nephew, Fenric; her longtime companion, Daniel; Daniel’s mother, Lydia; her extended family in Holland, including Auntie Nirma and cousins Regina and Jim; and many other relatives and friends whose lives were touched by her and who will carry her memory with them always.
In keeping with Talieha's wishes, there will be no formal celebration of life. She was a simple person who never wanted anyone to make a fuss over her. We know she would want to be remembered through the stories we share and the love we continue to show one another. The best way to honor Talieha is to love your family fiercely, laugh often, lend a hand when someone needs it, and never underestimate the power of a funny video to brighten someone's day.
Many have asked how they can honor Talieha’s memory. We are incredibly grateful to those who have already reached out, offered support, and contributed during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, our family will establish a Venmo account to help support Nicolas and Daniel ("Peanut") as they navigate the future without their mom. If you feel moved to give, your generosity will be a meaningful way to honor Talieha’s love for her children and the legacy she leaves behind. Venmo acct: Sandra Persad@Sandra-Persad-1
