Stacy Lynn Gossett

Stacy Lynn Gossett, 53, of Burleson, Texas, was born November 27, 1972, in Cleburne, Texas, and passed away August 26, 2026.

Stacy was a loving, kind, and generous man with a heart for helping others. He loved deeply, laughed often, and found his greatest happiness in the people he called family.

In 2013, Stacy met Lori Compton, the love of his life. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, music, concerts, movies, fishing, family, friends, and countless memories. Through every season of their life together, theirs was a love rooted in friendship and devotion. Lori remained faithfully by his side through his final days and until his last breath.

Stacy spent many years working for Unclaimed Freight, where his coworkers became an important part of his life. Outside of work, he was happiest doing the things he loved: fishing, especially along the coast in Galveston and Palacios; listening to music and supporting local bands; attending concerts; playing pool and board games; and simply spending time with the people he loved. And, of course, there was Gracie, his beloved dog and baby, who held a very special place in his heart.

Stacy was the biological father of Taylor Goode and loved Lori’s children, Trent Compton, Alyssa Compton, Kierstin Richards and her husband Nathaniel, and Sydney Gardner, as his own.

Family was one of Stacy’s greatest joys. He treasured his 10 nieces and nephews and adored his four grandchildren, Kinsley, Allison, Parker, and Ava. He was never too grown-up to get down on the floor and play, run around with them, make them laugh, or simply enjoy being in their world.

Stacy shared an especially precious bond with Ava, who was not only his granddaughter but also his best friend. They shared secrets, laughter, tears, and many days spent fishing together. Whenever Ava needed him, Stacy was there. The love, trust, and friendship they shared will remain a treasured part of her life forever.

Stacy is survived by his beloved partner, Lori Compton; his children and stepchildren; his grandchildren; his parents, Joe and Jean Gossett of Joshua, Texas, and Cheryl Flatt Summers of Joshua, Texas; his brother, Mike Gossett and wife Tish; his sister, Sheila Odell and husband Sammy; his 10 nieces and nephews; his beloved Gracie; and many extended family members, friends, and coworkers who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Randall “Waldo” Gossett; his grandparents, Faye Gossett and Margie McDonald; his uncle, Alvin Gossett; his aunt, Brenda Wise; and his great-grandmother, Jewl Barnett.

Stacy leaves behind far more than memories. He leaves the imprint of a life spent loving people well, through the laughter he shared, the kindness he showed, the friendships he built, and a family who will carry his love with them always. He was deeply loved and will be missed beyond measure.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those wishing to honor Stacy consider supporting Lori as she navigates the days ahead following his extended hospitalization and passing.

Family and close friends will gather afterward for dinner at Antonio’s to continue sharing memories and celebrating Stacy’s life.
