Michael Lynn Smith, 57, went to be with the Lord on Thursday July 22, 2021.

On Thursday, July 22, 2021, the Smith family lost their champion to a tragic illness. He fought a brave fight while hospitalized, however God, in his infinite wisdom called His child home to rest.
Michael Lynn Smith was born January 25, 1964, to the parents of Joel Smith Sr. and Lola Faye Short Smith in Fort Worth, Texas. As a child, Michael attended elementary school at Como Elementary and then went to middle school at Kilpatrick Middle School. In 1979, Michael entered Paul Lawrence Dunbar where he graduated in 1982. After graduation he worked various jobs in the fields of warehouse, BPI industry, Colonial Cafeteria, and a Cold Storage warehouse. His last place of employment was Amazon Prime and Misfit Market. Michael had a love of working on cars, landscaping, grill master and passionate about being of service to anyone in need. On February 26, 1985, Michael became a father for the first time to a son Aaron Harper. He met Tanya Weathers in January 2000. Shortly after Michael became the proud father of another son Jordan Smith on September 16, 2000. The two married in January 2001 and became parents to Jasmine Smith on June 24, 2004. Although this union ended, the two remained friends and continued to coparent their children.

On December 2, 2006, he met Puree Jones, and they became best friends. They later decided to commit to one another and became partners on February 17, 2007. During this union, on October 20, 2009, one son was born, Gabriel Franklin Smith. They remained life partners until he passed away in July.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Joel, and Lola Smith, two brothers, Antonio Smith, and Joel Smith, and one sister, Rhoda Smith. He leaves to cherish his memories, life partner, Puree Jones, one daughter, Jasmine Smith, seven sons, Aaron (Yvonne), Johnathan Franklin, Isiah Franklin, Zacchaeus Jones, Jordan Smith, Michael Jones, and Gabriel Smith. He has one sister, Heidi Smith Brown, and one Brother, Patrick Smith (Broshell), Dear Aunt Tommie Lee Jones (Frank), one granddaughter, Lakiesha Dotson-Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
