Sherry Lou Simpson, born August 20, 1956, passed away on September 17, 2026.
Sherry will be remembered as a devoted woman whose life was centered on family, friendship, and faithful work. She attended Van Horn High School in Independence, Missouri, and went on to build a long and respected career marked by loyalty and dedication. In 1992, she began working at Vencor in Mansfield. When the company transitioned to Kindred Healthcare in 2001, Sherry continued her service there, ultimately retiring in 2025 as director of housekeeping at Kindred Arlington after 33 years of committed work. Her retirement was a meaningful milestone and a reflection of the steady care and professionalism she brought to those around her.
Beyond her work, Sherry found joy in the people she loved most. She cherished time spent with her family at gatherings and also enjoyed trips to the casino, moments that brought laughter, companionship, and lasting memories.
She leaves behind a family who will carry her memory forward with love. Sherry is survived by her daughter, Alisha Nail; her step-mother, Jessie Nail; her sister Pamela Young and Pamela’s husband, Dave Young; her sister-in-law Donna Nail; her brothers Benny Nail and Bryan Nail, and their wives, Kay Nail and Wendy Nail. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Amber Lee-Nicole Nail, and by her great-grandchildren, Cayden Kuykendall, Sway McCary, Chaos McCary, and Keston Rhys, each of whom was part of the family circle she treasured so deeply.
Her memory will also be held close by her nieces Holly Griffin, Ashely Reneau, Hayley Penton, and Kristin Maynard; her nephews Nathen Nail, Nick Nail, Brad Nail, Cory Nail, Justin Nail, Kevin Nail, Chris Nail, Travis Young, Brandon Young, and Jason Young; and by dear friends who were like family to her, including her best friend, Jessica Hayes, as well as Christy Burgess, Lisa Romans, and Shay Peltier, all close family friends whose lives were touched by her presence.
Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Leon Charles Nail; her mother, Lucille Helen Perry (Millirons); her brothers, Mike Perry and Steve Nail; and her stepfather, Bobby Perry. Their memories remained part of her life and story, and now she is reunited with those who went before her.
