Sherry Fry (Bright), a beloved Registered Nurse and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully with her friend Kim Lively at her side on January 15, 2026, in Brownfield, Texas. She was born on November 19, 1955, in Nebraska City, where the roots of her compassion and dedication to caring for others took hold early in her life.
Throughout her career as a nurse, Sherry exhibited a remarkable commitment to her patients and the medical field. Her tireless work ethic and gentle spirit made her a trusted figure among colleagues and patients alike. She approached her profession with a heartfelt dedication that provided comfort and solace to many, embodying the true essence of nursing.
Sherry is survived by her beloved son, Jamie Bright, who was a source of pride and joy in her life. Her former husband/friend of 46 years, Lonnie Bright. She also leaves behind her dear sisters, Theresa Alkema Fry and Yvonne Waters, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Her legacy lives on through her adoring grandchildren: Marissa Hall, Tristan Bright, Hayden Bright, and Haylee Bright, who brought immense happiness to her life.

A graveside service honoring Sherry's life will be held at Sand Flat Cemetery in Cleburne, Texas, on January 28, 2026, starting at 11:00 AM. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Sherry are welcome to join in celebrating her extraordinary presence and the lasting impact she had on those around her.
Though Sherry will be profoundly missed, her spirit and love will forever remain in the hearts of those she left behind. She lived her life with grace, compassion, and unwavering strength, leaving an indelible mark on the world.
