Shawn Danielle Dosku

January 11, 1971 — June 9, 2026

Shawn Danielle Dosku, 55, of Mansfield, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 9, 2026.

Shawn was born on January 11, 1971, in Conroe, Texas, to Donald and Linda Mooneyham. She grew up and was schooled in Huntsville, Texas, and went on to earn her degree in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University. She later received a master’s degree in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

Shawn’s heart for the Lord shaped the whole course of her life. After beginning her career as a criminal justice officer, she stepped away from the corporate world to serve as a missionary with the International Mission Board from 1998 to 1999, carrying the love of Christ to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where she served in Banja Luka and spent three months in Sarajevo. Following the 1999 conflict in Kosovo, she was asked to lead a team there. With her ministry partner Carol, she moved to Peja, Kosovo, from August 1999 to January 2000, serving families as they returned home from Albania, Montenegro, Macedonia, and across Europe. She helped meet their needs with food and clothing, helped rebuild homes, roofs, windows, and doors before winter came, and helped establish mission work that continues to this day. She later led a summer mission trip for her church, serving children through Vacation Bible School in a Kosovar village, and returned as a summer intern before completing her seminary degree.

It was during this season that she grew close to the man who would become her beloved husband. Shawn married Olgert Dosku on November 16, 2002, and together they built a beautiful family and a lifetime of memories.

In 2003, Shawn earned her teaching certification and devoted more than two decades to education, sixteen of them with the Arlington Independent School District. She spent a year teaching in Carlsbad, New Mexico, when her husband’s work took the family there, then returned to DFW and taught third grade in Mansfield ISD. She later earned her librarian certification and served as a librarian for her final four years in Arlington ISD, where she dearly loved her library team and the joy of opening up the world of books to children.

Above all, Shawn loved her family. She poured her life into her husband, her daughter, and her son, cherishing every moment with them. She loved to travel and see the world, especially overseas with family in Europe, treasuring the beaches and mountains of Albania and the memories made along the way. But no matter where she lived or what work she did, one thing never changed: her heart belonged to the Lord. She worshiped Him, praised Him, and faithfully guided her family to love and follow Him, right up until the day she went home to Him.

Shawn was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Mooneyham.

She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Olgert Dosku; her daughter, Abigail Mariana Dosku; and her son, Aaron Benjamin Dosku. She is also survived by her father, Donald Mooneyham; her uncle, Charles Mooneyham; her sister and brother-in-law, Kimberly and Damian McCarthy; and her nephew, Andrew McCarthy.
