November 20, 1969 – March 6, 2023

Laura Ruiz passed into the arms of the Lord whom she dearly loved on March 6, 2023. Laura spent a lifetime serving the Lord, caring for her husband, and raising her five precious children. Born in Guadalajara, Mexico on November 20, 1969, to parents Selim Chamblati Yacaman and Anail Dorantes Contiño, Laura was raised by her grandmother, Angela. Laura grew up in Mexico and was married at 15 to Mariano Ruiz. She was 16 when she gave birth to her first child, daughter, Anaisa. Laura and her young family migrated to the United States when she was only 17 years old. At 18, she gave birth to her second daughter Mariana, and at age 21, her third daughter Biridiana. The family dreamed and prayed for a little boy. Their prayers were answered, and at age 24, she gave birth to Abraham Ruiz, and at age 28, she gave birth to her youngest Isaiah Ruiz.
Laura met the Lord Jesus Christ when she was 20 and was baptized at First Baptist Hispanic Church in Arlington.

In the early 90s, Laura began serving in the Mission Arlington Peach Street Community Church. She taught children’s Sunday school, was a nursery attendant, and was a local missionary for outreach events. She was mightily gifted in hospitality, which she often showed to various visitors she welcomed in her home and church gatherings. She continued to diligently serve the Lord, and to raise her five children in Arlington then Mansfield, Texas. She loved her home and making, especially holidays, a memorable event for her children and her 10 beautiful grandchildren whom she loved spoiling. She was known not only for her cooking and special holiday dishes but also for her gentle smile, playful laughter and the charisma that made her house a home filled with love and joy. An outstanding mother, a faithful wife and a true friend, Laura will be remembered with deep love and appreciation. She will be forever missed.

She is survived by her husband Mariano Ruiz, her children Anaisa Ruiz, Mariana Ruiz, Biridiana Ruiz, Abraham Ruiz, and Isaiah Ruiz, her grandchildren; Zoe Barclay, Elle Barclay Jovanni Zayas, Joshua Zayas, Jayden Zayas, Janessa Zayas, Santiago Ruiz, Genesis In, Stella Ruiz and Ezra In, and her sons-in-law Joshua Zayas, Daniel In, and daughter-in-law Emily Bui.
