Ronnie Lee Martin

Ronnie Lee Martin passed away peacefully on May 18, 2024, at the age of 81.

Ronnie was born on October 3, 1942, in San Diego, California to Frances Geraldine and Melvin Martin. He married Frances Marie Rhodes on April 28, 1971. They had just recently celebrated their 53rd anniversary.

Ronnie enjoyed a successful career, racing top fuel dragsters in the 60's and 70's, achieving the title of NHRA World Champion 1970. His career outside of racing was in the automobile industry.

He enjoyed traveling, cruising, working on his 1979 El Camino, playing golf, and mostly spending time with his loving family and friends.

Ronnie is survived by his wife Frances; his daughter, Eva Barnes and her husband Mike; his son, Chris Lee Martin; his four grandchildren, Brian Barnes and his wife Katie, Lauren Barnes, Kaylee Martin Wiser and her husband Matt, and Emma Martin; his two great-grandchildren, Ezra Lee Wiser and Jack Martin Barnes; his sister-in-law, Molly Crane and her husband Jim; his two nephews, Steve Lambert, Harold Rhodes and his wife Debra.

There will be a celebration of life at his home, as requested by him, at a later date.
