On January 20, 2023, Henry Roney fell into a deep sleep to join his beloved wife Cecille B. Roney, now they will rest together side by side in eternal love.

Visitation: 6:00-8:00pm Friday, February 3, 2023 at Skyvue Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 1:30pm Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Skyvue Funeral Home.
Interment: Skyvue Memorial Gardens, Mansfield, Texas.

Henry was a self-made God-fearing man who loved to work. He served over 20 years of service in the United States Air Force. Then, Retired from the Military Honorably. Later, he Retired again with the City of Tacoma Washington as an Electrician with the Department of Public Utilities.

On December 28, 1996, with the blessing of Cecille’s fathers and mother Mr. and Mrs. Ceylon J. Elgin of Fort Worth, Texas, Henry Roney married his High School Sweet Heart and beloved wife Cecille B. Roney at Eastland Church of Christ in Fort Worth, Texas. So, they are no longer two, but on flesh. Therefore, what God hath join let no one separate. Cecille B. Roney passed away November 1, 2020. Henry and Cecille Roney were married 24 years. Both Henry and Cecille shared the love of cooking and entertaining their family, friends, and church members.

Henry Roney was a faithful member of Eastland Church of Christ where he worked diligently as a Lead Usher in that membership. Henry Roney was also an asset to Carver Heights and all of Tarrant County. He was an outstanding member of the Tarrant County Tax Appraisal Review Board, and made sure, that the appraised values on our property remained steady according to the basic standards of evaluation. Whenever minorities had problems with their appraisal, they could always count on Henry Roney to see that they received a fair hearing.

Henry Roney was born in Fort Worth, Texas and graduated from I. M. Terrell High School in 1953. He enrolled at Prairie View A & M University where he studied electrical engineering from 1953 to 1954. Henry Roney volunteered for service in the United States Air Force and continued his training in electronics. He became an expert in avionics, and during his tenure of service served as: a supervisor and instructor of avionics. He also served in the Non-Commissioned Officers Academy. Henry Roney retired from the United States Air Force in 1975. This veteran migrated to Tacoma, Washington in 1977, and spent 10 years as an employee of the "Light Division" of the Department of Public Utilities. In 1978, Henry Roney matriculated at Ft. Steilacoom Community College where he received his Associate Degree in Technology, and Associate in Arts and Science degree. On May 15, 1982, he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Education from the University of Southern Illinois at Carbondale where he became member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.

After working as a Counselor in the Pierce County Juvenile Court System, Henry Roney married Cecille in 1996; he retired from the city of Tacoma, Washington in 1997. Upon returning to Fort Worth, Texas Henry Roney became involved in many facets of this community, such as: 2000-2006, a member of Tarrant County Appraisal Review Board; 2002-2008, Dunbar Area Community School Advisory Board; and, 2006 to 2010, President of I. M. Terrell High School Class of 1952-1953. Henry Roney is a Life-Time 33rd Degree Mason of Egyptian Lodge #44 in Tacoma, Washington, a Member of the American Legion, a volunteer Hospital Worker, and raises funds for Kappa Alpha Psi.

Henry is survived by many loving family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
