Romelia Valdez Alvarez

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Romelia Valdez Alvarez, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, tia and friend, who peacefully entered eternal rest surrounded by her loved ones.

Romelia was preceded in death by the forever love of her life, Arturo Alvarez; her precious granddaughter, Emily Alvarez; her loving parents, Ama and Apa; her dear brother, Jesus Valdez; and her son-in-law, Carlos Rangel. While she will be deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing she has been reunited with those she held closest to her heart.

She is survived by her seven children: Brenda Araiza, Gloria Landeros, Joann Alvarez, Marisela Alvarez, Albert Alvarez, Angel Alvarez, and Mindy Hurtado, along with their spouses. Her legacy lives on through her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and joy.

Romelia is also survived by her seven loving sisters: Lupe, Alicia, Blanca, Thelma, Bertha, Mari, and Paty—a sisterhood built on unconditional love, laughter, and shared strength—along with their families, including countless nieces and nephews who admired her resilience and will forever cherish the memories of good times, laughter, and joy shared with their unforgettable Tía Bodi.

Romelia’s life was defined by faith, endurance, and a heart full of love. Her warmth, wisdom, and unshakable devotion to family will forever live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
