Roger Sterling Young, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on August 25, 2023, in Arlington, Texas. He was born on July 28, 1939, in Los Angeles, California. Roger's kind and gentle soul touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Roger had a deep sense of duty and served his country with honor. In 1957, he joined the National Guard in Mississippi. His commitment to service led him to enlist in the Army in 1961, followed by joining the National Guard in California in 1966. Roger's dedication to protecting his fellow citizens will always be remembered.

Beyond his military service, Roger found joy and fulfillment in his roles as a husband and father. He shared a beautiful journey with his loving wife, Sandra K. Young. Their bond was unbreakable and filled with love that was evident to anyone who witnessed their interactions. Together they created a warm and nurturing home that welcomed their two sons into the world.

Bret (Stacy) Brent Young and Randy (Rene) Roysdon were fortunate to call Roger their father. His unwavering love and support guided them throughout their lives. Roger's presence provided them with stability and strength as they navigated life's challenges. The lessons he imparted upon them will continue to shape their character for years to come.

Roger's brother Timothy (Patti) Young held a special place in his heart. They shared not only blood but also an unbreakable bond that grew stronger as they journeyed through life together. was not only a brother but also a trusted confidant who provided comfort during difficult times.

He was met at heaven's gate by Copper Farragut, Geraldine Farragut, Ned Young, Ivy Young, Scott Young. The joy of Roger's life extended beyond immediate family; he reveled in the role of being a grandfather. He treasured the precious moments spent with his grandchildren: Alexzandrea Young, Rusty and Leanne Roysden, Robin and Matt King, Cydney Caylor, Nathan Caylor, Lance Caylor, Lisa and Javier Vasquez, Diese, Jamie and Rey Gutierrez. He nurtured their dreams and celebrated their accomplishments wholeheartedly. He is loved by nephews, Nick Young and Ryan Young. Roger's love and influence will forever remain in the hearts of his 22 great-grandchildren by the names of Sterling, Realynn, RJ, Alexander, Everett, Elliott, Kimberlynn, Savannahlynn, Bently, Jessielynn, Junnilynn, Athan, Jaden, Mikah, Christian, Christopher, Elias, Alexander, Gabriel, Giselle, Ryan, and Brookelynn.

Roger Sterling Young will be remembered for his generosity, integrity, and warmth. He had an innate ability to make everyone feel valued and loved. His kindness knew no boundaries, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Roger's smile could brighten even the darkest of days, filling every room he entered with joy.
