Rodney Blaine Macklem (Butch), a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend went to be with the Lord at the age of 76 on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in Mansfield, Tarrant County, Texas.
He was a member of Keystone Church in Keller, Texas and belonged to American Legion post # 624 Mansfield, Texas.
Rodney was a jack of trades. He could do anything. He was a farmer, a truck driver, supervisor for Store Cable in Grand Prairie, TX. and owner of RB CONTRACTORS OF TEXAS, INC. He loved riding his motorcycle on charity rides with his many friends affiliated with the American Legion. He was an avid camper and often took his RV to Joe Pool Lake where he enjoyed fishing and boating with his many friends. He also loved riding horses and hunting. However, there was a special place in his heart for all cats, including his girl Sunday. In his younger years he was a true Cowboy. He grew up on a farm in Hubbard, Nebraska. Later, Rodney and his brother Maurice Franklin Macklem (Skip) were very close, and the two families worked together on a family farm is Westfield, Plymouth County, Iowa. In his 40's the great cable boom brought him to Texas where he lived his final years as a resident of Venus, Texas
Rodney was very proud of his four girls and found no greater joy than the time spent with them. He also loved to spend time with his grandchildren where they enjoyed summer vacations together, attending sporting events, going to festivals, church, and so much more with his granddaughters Gabriella Parkey and Trinity Blanton.
He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Lee Macklem, his mother Esther Henrietta Macklem (Lussier), his half siblings Thomas Henry Macklem II, William Wayne Macklem, Patricia Jean Macklem, and Mavis Ruth Dunlap (Macklem).
