Robert Charles Peyton, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, gracefully departed this world on October 8, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on July 19, 1951, in Fort Worth, Texas, Robert spent his formative years and ultimately shaped his robust character in this vibrant city. He is remembered fondly not only for his devoted service at Harbison Fischer Manufacturing for over two decades but also for the deep connections he fostered within his community.
Having proudly graduated from Dunbar High School in the Class of 1969, Robert demonstrated a tenacity and commitment to excellence that would mark his career and family life. His journey through life was enhanced by a profound faith which he found at Beth Eden Baptist Church.
On March 15, 1995, Robert married the love of his life, Gwendolyn Faye Fontenot. Their union was celebrated not only as a testament to their love but also as a cornerstone of a vibrant family. Their blended family consisted of daughters Yoki Waters, Kendra Peyton, Eugenia Scott, Brittany Allen (Brandon), Patricia Kelsick (Andre), and sons Roderick Peyton (Corina), Eugene Scott, Tremeino Fontenot (Panesha), Reggie Yaites, Courtney Yaites (Phairen). Each child fondly remembers Robert's steadfast support and guidance, as well as the joy he took in celebrating their individual achievements.
Robert's legacy extends beyond the immediate family; he cherished every moment spent with his parents, Charles and Ida Bell Peyton, as well as his sisters Maggie Cavitt, Barbara Wilson with Ricky, and Donna Buckshia. His brothers Jack Peyton with Kelly, Ralph Peyton with Romona, Maurice Peyton with Kim, Morris Peyton with Pam, and Billie Peyton stood by him through all of life's trials and triumphs, forming a family bond that remains strong.
His loving nature was reflected through his numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, each of whom found in him a source of strength and affection. The laughter shared during family gatherings and the whispers of wisdom imparted during quiet moments constitute an indelible part of his heritage.
Robert will be profoundly missed not just by his family but also by friends and community members whose lives he touched. Among those who have passed and will watch over him are Charles Peyton, Willie, Ricky, and Tom Preston, Neiman and John Peyton, as well as Mollie Mae Peyton and Ivory Bell Gray.
The memorial service to honor Robert's remarkable life will be held on October 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Beth Eden Baptist Church, located at 3208 Wilbarger St., Fort Worth, TX, 76119.
