Robert E. Bishop

  ROBERT BISHOP LEFT TO BE WITH THE LORD JUNE 26, 2025 AT THE AGE OF 93

On a wonderful day May 1, 1932, Robert was born in Handley, Texas to Charles Clarence Bishop and Bess Bishop.

Robert attended Everman High School, where he met his high school sweetheart, Marie. In October of 1948, Robert married Marie Nowell in Ft. Worth, Texas. During that time, they had five children. For many years, Robert was a truck driver for several companies. He had varied jobs through the years. Robert attended Crowley, Everman, Kennedale, Bowie Church of Christ. 

Often times you would find Robert fishing (one of his favorite hobbies) or building birdhouses and planter boxes. He loved playing dominoes and forty-two with friends and family. But for the past several years he enjoyed playing FARKEL with family on Friday nights or (anytime he could get someone to sit and play). 

The family would like to give a special acknowledgment to Mansfield Medical Lodge where Robert became one of their favorite people. We want to say thank you for all the care and love from the nurses, aides, PT, OT and Speech therapist and the cleaning staff. You would often find him hanging out with the guys in PT or around his buddies in the front patrolling the nurse's desk. He had many, many friends he loved, Ms. Mary, Ms. Deborah, Mrs. Cookie and Bridget. If everyone could be listed it would be a page all by itself. 

Robert is proceeded in death by his wife Marie, his parents, 3 brothers, JW, Charles, Owen and 1 sister Ann, grandchildren, Sarah and Justin Nowell.

Robert is survived by his children Debbie Nowell and Ronnie, Cyndee Shields, Robert Bishop Jr and Rebecca, Tina Rager and Jerry, Susan Lindsey and Johnny. Grandchildren Jason and Jeremy Nowell, Grant and Andrea Shields, Shane and Amanda Rager, Chad and Robyn Rager, Ashley and Clint Swindell, Leslie and Joel Hall, Jake and Kalie Lindsey. Great-grandchildren Tyler and Tristian Nowell, Katie and Brandon Ferguson, Rylan and Landon Nowell, Truett Shields, Easton and Jayden, Jessie, Luke and Josiah Rager, Cole, Cord, and Case, Levi Sikes and Delaney Swindell, Cade, Nash and Reid Hall, Bexley Reign and Johnnie Faye Lindsey, Logan Bean. Great-great-grandchildren Paislee and Preston Ferguson. Also several nieces and nephews.
