Ray Daniel Zumwalt has peacefully gone to be with the Lord on March 5, 2026, at the age of 78.
Ray was born on May 12, 1947, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Annie Estelle and Clifford David Zumwalt. On August 14, 1970, Ray married Linda Anne Metz, in Seattle, Washington. He worked for Disston Saws in Seattle, and Oil States Industries in Arlington, Texas as a Journeyman Machinist. He was a member of Graceview Baptist Church in Burleson, where he considered it a privilege to serve as a church greeter and an usher. His strong faith and love for Jesus were evident to all who knew him. Ray enjoyed fishing, watching the Texas Rangers, and tinkering on anything he could find.
Ray proudly served in the United States Navy for 4 years. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Navy Unit Expeditionary Commendation Medal. He was especially proud to receive the Navy Shellback Award.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Estelle and Clifford; his three brothers, Ben, David, and Bill.
Those left to cherish Ray’s memory are his loving wife of almost 56 years, Linda Zumwalt; his two sons, Jeff Zumwalt (Tiffany) and Danny Zumwalt (Brandy), and his daughter, Amy Zumwalt; his sisters-in-law, MaryBeth and Aleyne Zumwalt; his grandchildren, Emma, Gabe, Jackson, Luke, Delta, Peter, Asa, Ian, Autumn, and Elijah, along with several loving nieces, nephews, family members, and many wonderful friends.
Flowers are welcome, and memorial donations may be made to the Missions Fund at Graceview Baptist Church.
