Preston G. Jordan

Preston Gene Jordan, of Burleson, Texas, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024 at the age of 86.

Memorial service: 2:00 PM Friday, January 19, 2024 at Retta Baptist Church 13201 Rendon Rd, Burleson, TX 76028.

Preston was born on July 1, 1937 in Kiowa, Oklahoma to Jesse Willard Jordan and Hazel Lousinda Patton Jordan.

He graduated from Arlington High School in 1954, and then went on to obtain his EMT certification. Preston served his community working for the Arlington Fire Department  from August 1, 1958 until he retired as Captain on January 19, 1990. He loved his work and his fellow firemen and has stayed close with his AFD family.

Preston's home Church was Retta Baptist Church in Burleson, TX. He was also a founding charter member of Fielder Road Baptist in Arlington, TX. In his free time, he loved golfing, team penning, playing acoustic bass guitar, but mostly spending time with family, especially his grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Chester Jordan.

Preston is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Chloe Gibbs Jordan; daughter, Jana Shaw and husband Ken Shaw;
son, Jason Jordan and wife Brenda Jordan; grandchildren, Breahna Jordan, Cody Jordan, Brennan Coulter, and Zack Brasfield;
great nephew, Brian Roughton; numerous other family members and loving friends.
