Robert Wayland Pike was born on 10/24/1940 in Childress, Texas and went to be with the lord on February 9, 2021. He was 80 years old. Robert was a long time resident of Fort Worth. He was a friend to many strays, both people and animals. He had an exceptional love for small dog breeds. He enjoyed bird houses, and horticulture, many bragged on his green thumb. He was a very generous man, willing to give you the shirt off his back. Robert is preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years Dorthey, his parents, Archie and Jenny Pike, brothers, Gary, Harold and Jerry. Robert is survived by his 3 children; Robert (Wayland), Jr, Kathleen (Sissy)Pike; and Larry and his wife Lisa; sister Mary Kay and husband Joe Smith; brother James Pike and wife Faye; 4 grandchildren; Armida Self, Rachel Shary, Rey Garcia Jr, and Breanna Pike; and 8 great-grandchildren. Please join us in celebrating his life on February 23, 2021. Visitation is at 10:00 am with service to follow at 11am. Skyvue Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 7220 Rendon Bloodworth Rd, Mansfield, Texas. Everyone will be required to wear a mask for the duration of their stay. Private interment is at Laurel Land right next to his beloved wife.
