Early Mae Nevils through the grace of God entered into this world Sunday, December 24, 1950, to the parents of Earl and Rosetta Pitts of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, where she was born and proceeded to go be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.
Visitation Service: 11am-1pm Wednesday September 29, 2021 at Skyvue Victoria Chapel.
Funeral Service: 1pm Wednesday September 29, at Skyvue Victoria Chapel.
A few years later the family moved to Chicago, Illinois where Early attended Polk Elementary School, Beethoven Elementary School, DuSable High School, and graduating to attend the University of Illinois, Roosevelt University, and graduating from Chicago State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Early taught elementary school for 35 plus years specifically 4th - 6th grade specializing in reading. She taught at T.G. Terry Elementary School in Dallas I.S.D. for 30 years.
Early met Rodney Nevils while attending DuSable High School and started dating when they re-met while attending the University of Illinois. Later they were married and brought forth two lovely daughters Chandar and Antoinette. In 1982, the family moved from Chicago, Illinois to the Dallas, Texas area.
Early accepted Christ at an early age influenced by a well-read Christian minded mother. Early attended and became a member of the Church of Christ.
Early leaves a legacy of cherished memories with her husband Rodney Nevils, two daughters Chandar Nevils and Antoinette Nevils, grandson Xavier Nevils, two brothers Arlency Pitts and Nathaniel Pitts, two sisters Loretta Pitts and Clearesta Jones (Pitts), a host of wonderful nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and the thousands of students that were touched and blessed with her magnificent teaching ability.
Early was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and educator. She will surely be missed.
