Charles was an avid "Ham Radio Operator" while in the Air Force and after retirement. He talked with people all over the world. He also enjoyed tinkering with woodwork. He had a servant's heart and ran the AV for Cranes Mill Baptist Church at Canyon Lake among many other things.
There was a wonderful group of friends that Daddy had at Canyon Lake and as they passed away there were only three of them that took care of each other and checked in on each other. That's the best kind of friends to have. The three musketeers; Daddy, Lois Riggins and Loretta Hughes. Thank you both for always being there for each other.
Whether you called him Dad, Daddy, Charles or Papaw, he was loved by all.
We want to thank Mansfield Methodist Hospital and Heart to Heart Hospice for their kindness and the wonderful care they gave our Daddy and Papaw. Also, the wonderful care Shirley Blackburn gave Dad the last few days of his life here at our house.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Charles P. Nelson's name to the Wounded Warriors.
