Nancy Christine Crowe

Nancy Christine Crowe (Ritter), 68, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on September 20, 2026.

Born July 15, 1958, in Evansville, Indiana, to Eugene Ritter and Martel Chase, Nancy lived a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and caring for others.

Nancy proudly served in the United States Army in 1977 as an automotive repairman—or, asshe called it, “a tank mechanic.” She trained at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, qualifiedas a Sharpshooter with the M16 rifle, and completed her service honorably.

Nancy later lived in Florida, where she worked for Emergency One, before following her children back to Evansville. She eventually went to work for Berry Plastics, where she remained until retirement. After retiring, she moved to Texas to be near her daughter and family.

Nancy described herself best: “I am a mother and a grandmother that would do anything for family and friends."

She truly lived that way. Nancy was a rock for her family—dependable, selfless, easygoing, and always there when someone needed her. But if you messed with her family, the fight was on.

Nancy treasured birthdays, Christmas, and family traditions, especially the Christmas Eve candlelight service. To her grandchildren, she was simply “Memaw.” Being Memaw was one of the great joys of her life, and she was well known for sneaking candy to the grandkids.

Her faith was an important part of her life, and she attended Crestview Baptist Church in Arlington. Nancy loved animals and the outdoors, especially howling wolves, and thoroughly spoiled her beloved dog, AC.

She also had a green thumb and could grow just about anything. She loved gardening, crocheting, working puzzles, and fishing—and somehow, even when no one else was catching fish, Nancy was.

Nancy loved strawberry ice cream and strawberry desserts, Texas Roadhouse, and a good dad joke. Her family will always remember her familiar sayings: “I love you more than anything in this world,” “I loved you first,” “If you're coughing, raise your arms,” “Don't split the pole,” and “Bread and butter."

 Nancy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jodie and Craig Crowe; her grandchildren, Charles Crowe and Chase Crowe; extended blended family members, siblings, nieces, nephews and many friends who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Ritter and Martel Chase; her son, Chad David Crowe; her granddaughter, Alyssa Christine Crowe; and siblings.

Nancy will be remembered for her strength, her faith, her humor, and most of all, the way she loved and cared for her family and friends. She was an anchor of strength and carried a beautiful holy resilience through life. She was Memaw to her grandchildren, and the flowers and plants she nurtured, fishing stories, family traditions, dad jokes, and countless little things she did for those she loved will continue to keep her memory close.
