Sonja Lashon Moore (Weston)

September 21, 1969 — August 10, 2021

Sonja was born September 21, 1969, to Vanice White and Joanne Weston-White in Columbus, Mississippi.

She attended Jordan High School in Los Angeles, CA and later matriculated at Dallas Baptist University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology; she worked as a Computer Analyst and contracted with major companies.

Sonja married Perry Moore April 20, 2002, in her hometown of Columbus, MS. She was a member of Zion Gate M.B. Church, Columbus, MS; New Life Church, Arlington, TX. She enjoyed reading, spending time with family, traveling, and playing tennis.

She was preceded in death by her father, Vanice White and grandmother, Clara Weston.

Those who are left to cherish her memories are her husband, Perry Moore; sons, Rashad Weston, Nias Moore and Pierre Moore (Zoe); mother, Joanne White; siblings, Tyroid Weston (LaShaun), Richard Brisco, Jr., Donald Brisco, Dionne Brisco, and Nikita Young-Austin; three grandchildren, Lawrence, Aylani (Tootie), and Ollie; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

As a mother, she inspired her kids to love God, respect others, and love family. As a sister, she had an enduring passion smothered with love, looking out for and guiding those around her. As a friend, she was a good hostess, and made sure everyone around her was comfortable. As a daughter and niece, she was taught (and learned) to treat others with the utmost patience and love. As a loving and caring wife, Sonja always remained steadfast as she loved her family and supported her husband whom served our country.
