October 1, 1956 – October 20, 2026

Michael Marvin Ocheskey, beloved husband, father, Pops, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, in Burleson, Texas.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at Lakeside Church of Christ in Mansfield, Texas, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 PM. Graveside services will follow at Skyvue Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery in Mansfield.

Mike was born on October 1, 1956, in Jefferson City, Missouri, to Marvin and Ruth Ocheskey. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Barbara Ocheskey, Mother-in-love Peggy McHam and Father-in-love Jim McHam, and other beloved family members who have undoubtedly welcomed him into heaven.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, best friend and passenger princess of 45 years, Donna Carole McHam Ocheskey, and their four children: Brandon Jay and Ally Ocheskey, Justin Craig and Macey Ocheskey, Ryan Michael and Laura Ocheskey, and Shannen Michelle and Ainslie Ocheskey. His legacy also includes his thirteen grandchildren: Camden, Braelynn, Crayton, Maddyn, Disney, Declan, Keyleigh, Parker, Zaxton, William, Waylon, Mikah, and RaeLynn. Mike is also survived by Patricia Ocheskey (Grandma O), Frank and Sue Batchelor, Debbie and Mike Coday, Jacque and Louis Fleming, Jay McHam and Blair Gowens, Teresa McHam, Terry McHam, Sharla and Todd Sessums and JoAnn Tangen, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends. He and Donna, lovingly known as Pops and Nonna, also shared a special bond with countless young people who became an extended part of their family over the years.

Mike devoted 37 years of his professional life to Phillips 66, beginning in May 1977 as a pipeline mechanic. Known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and dedication, he took pride in his work and the responsibilities entrusted to him. These qualities were instilled in him by his father, Marvin, whose example shaped the man Mike became. He carried those lessons throughout his career and passed them along to his own children.

A valued member of the Denver City community, Mike lived out his faith through service to others. As a deacon at the Denver City Church of Christ, he faithfully served his congregation and demonstrated a steadfast commitment to his faith and fellow man. Mike also devoted countless hours to the young people of his community. He coached youth league teams, officiated basketball games, and mentored young men, offering encouragement, guidance, and an example of integrity and sportsmanship. His support extended to Denver City High School, where he participated in booster clubs for both athletics and band. He believed in the value of teamwork, education, and community involvement, and he took great pride in helping young people succeed both on and off the court. His influence reached far beyond the playing field, leaving a lasting impression on generations of young people and the community he loved.

His interests reflected his love of adventure and family. He especially enjoyed drag racing and treasured the time he spent serving on the pit crew with Mike C. and Debbie. Traveling was another favorite pastime, with Branson, Missouri, holding a special place in his heart. He enjoyed visiting Major League ballparks, attending sporting events, and taking family vacations. An outdoorsman at heart, Mike loved fishing and hunting, and he found satisfaction in woodworking and building projects that allowed him to work with his hands and create something lasting. Those who knew Mike will remember his humble spirit and servant’s heart. He never needed recognition or praise; he simply wanted to help. Whether assisting with a project, volunteering at an event, supporting a loved one, or working quietly behind the scenes, Mike was always willing to step in wherever he was needed. His generosity with his time, talents, and friendship was a defining part of who he was.

During this difficult time, the family has been deeply comforted by the tremendous outpouring of love, prayers, and support from relatives, friends, and an extraordinary community that has become family. These relationships, built over many years and strengthened through shared experiences, have been a source of strength in both joyful and difficult seasons of life.

Special appreciation is extended to the dear friends who became partners in crime, trusted companions, and cherished co-grandparents. Through shared adventures, laughter, and a mutual love for their children and grandchildren, these friendships grew into bonds that go far beyond words. They are family in every sense of the word, and the memories and love shared will always be treasured.

Though our hearts ache at saying goodbye, we find peace in the promises of our faith and the hope of eternal life. We take comfort in knowing that Mike’s earthly journey is complete and that he has been welcomed home by his Heavenly Father. Until we meet again, Mike, you will be forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered.
