Marilyn Kay Dixon of Roanoke, Texas, and formerly of Abilene, was called home to receive her heavenly reward on Sunday, May 31, 2026, in Mansfield, Texas at the age of 86.
Marilyn was born May 13, 1940, in Cleburne, Texas to Vernie Ishmael Wright and Royal Inez (Tutt) Wright. She married Roy Washington Dixon, Jr. on August 25, 1957, in Ciudad Acuña, Mexico. She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse and a Pediatric Nurse for many years.
Marilyn attended First Baptist Keller and MacArthur Boulevard Baptist Church. She was in the Women's Ministry and a part of the Red Hat Society. Marilyn enjoyed interior decorating, growing and arranging flowers, making toffee and peanut brittle along with all things Victorian.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernie Ishmael Wright and Royal Inez Wright; Glenda Wright Martin, David Collier Wright and her dear friend, Mary Perry.
Marilyn leaves to cherish her loving and caring memory and continue her legacy, her husband, Roy Washington Dixon, Jr.; daughters, Melinda Gay Dixon, Lori Gayle Dixon-Morrison and husband Curtis Morrison; son, Guy Cameron Dixon and wife Lory Ann Dixon; brothers, Darrell Gene Wright and wife Gail Wright, Larry DeWayne Wright and wife Linda Grace Wright, Danny Paul Wright; grandchildren, Cameron Ryan Burk, Kiley Anne Burk-Vian and husband Chris Vian, Elizabeth Anne Dixon-Abel and husband Jason Abel, Taylor Kay Kleb and husband Reece Kleb, Rebekah Kay Dixon-Burch and husband Blake Burch; great-grandchildren, Libby Vian, Roy Cooper Vian, Mindee Mae Vian, Benjamin Abel, Daniel Abel, Charlotte Abel; nieces, Deborah Kay Wright-Wolfe, Dana Moore, Tracey Wright-Hooks; nephews, Zane Wright, Jeffrey Van Martin, Timothy Wright, Justin Wright, Jeffrey Wright; other family and dear friends, Jim Perry, Norman and Margie Head, Cecil and Louann Hill and Carolyn Holeman.
