Marie Bishop

Marie Bishop left to be with the Lord June 7, 2024, at the age of 93.

On a beautiful September 20th day in 1930, Marie was born in Stamford, Texas to Jefferson Cleveland Nowell and Flora Grace Knowles.

Marie attended Everman High School, and this where she met her high school sweetheart, Robert. In October of 1948, Marie married Robert E. Bishop Sr. in Fort Worth Texas. During that time they had 5 children. For many years, Marie was a homemaker. She had various jobs through the years, and eventually worked at LTV for 6 years before retiring. Marie attended Crowley, Everman, Kennedale, Bowie and Mansfield Church of Christ.

Often times you could find Marie sewing, out in the yard gardening, in the kitchen cooking, playing the piano for herself and grandchildren as well as playing games with family and friends.

The family would like to give special acknowledgement to niece Vicki Smalling. Thank you, Vicki, for visiting our mom, she truly enjoyed your company.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 6 sisters, 7 brothers, 2 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marie is survived by her husband, Robert E. Bishop Sr.; children, Debbie Nowell and Ronnie, Cyndee Shields, Robert Bishop Jr. and Rebecca, Tina Rager and Jerry; Susan Lindsey and Johnny; grandchildren, Jason and Jeremy Nowell, Grant and Andrea Shields, Shane and Amanda Rager, Chad and Robyn Rager, Ashley and Clint Swindell, Leslie and Joel Hall; Jake and Kalie Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Tyler Nowell, Tristan Nowell, Katie and Brandon Ferguson, Rylan and Landon Nowell, Truett Shields, Easton and Jayden; Jessie, Luke, and Josiah Rager, Cole, Cord, and Case Rager, Levi Sikes, Delaney Swindell, Cade, Nash, Reid Hall  Bexley Reign and Johnnie Faye Lindsey, Logan Bean; great-great-grandchild, Pasilee Ferguson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
