Maria Aurelia Martinez-Lopez, or “Aurelia” as everyone knew her, a dedicated wife and mother, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, in Arlington, Texas, at the age of 98. Born in Coahuila, Mexico, on September 25, 1926, Aurelia was known for her deep faith and commitment to her family, marking her life with significant contributions both within her household and her community.

She became a member of Jehovah's Witnesses on February 21, 1976, and devoted over 49 years to sharing the Good News of God’s kingdom. Aurelia’s passion for her beliefs was matched only by her love for reading the Bible and biblical literature, which served as a guiding light throughout her life.

Aurelia cherished her family deeply, and her home was a haven for her loved ones. She married Margarito Lopez on September 24, 1943, in San Pedro, Coahuila, Mexico and together they nurtured a loving household filled with warmth and support.

Aurelia was preceded in death by her husband, Margarito Lopez; parents, Epitacio Martinez and Pabla Luna; siblings, Juana, Cirila, and Guadalupe; daughter, Maximina Lopez-Jiménez (Alberto) and her sons Bernabé (Sofia), Juan De Dios, and Juan José.

Aurelia is survived by her daughters, Juana Lopez, María Del Carmen Lopez, Rosario-Aurelia Lopez, Margarita Flores (José), Martha Catalina Flores (Romualdo), María Moncerratt Leos (Ramiro), and Isabel-Cristina Hernández (Benito). Her sons, Edmundo Lopez Sr. (Elvira), Hilario Lopez (María Elena), and Francisco-Jared M. Lopez; siblings, Dionicio Martínez, Tomas Martinez, and Socorro Martínez; grandchildren, Olga Lidia Jiménez, Can-Marina Jimenez, Maria De La Luz Jiménez, Nora Elia Jimenez-Hernandez (Armando), Inez Gutiérrez (Mauro), Edmundo Lopez Jr. (Patricia), Ruby Flores George (Cameron), Leah-Anissa Bernal (Brian), Jared Ramiro Leos, Daisy-Paloma Lopez (Alexander), and April Magdiel Flores; great-grandchildren, Yesenia Andrade, María De Lourdes Andrade, Monica Andrade, Alberto Zavala, Nery Zavala, Luis Zavala, Jorge Alberto Vásquez, Celina Vásquez, Hilario Vásquez, Alondra Hernández, Jairo Hernández, Paola Hernández, Bryan Hernández, Elonnie-Elizabeth Lopez, and Camila Rose George, along with a blessing of 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Throughout her life, Aurelia enjoyed numerous hobbies that enrich her personal story; she loved growing plants and flowers, cooking, sewing, knitting, and was especially accomplished in crocheting. Her skills and passions not only brought joy into her life but also strengthened the bonds that tied her to her family.

Aurelia leaves behind a legacy steeped in faith, love, and devotion—a testament to a life well-lived and a heart forever cherished.
