Margaret "Maggie" Walker, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on July 28, 2023, at her home in Bardwell, Texas. She was born on September 8, 1955, in North Carolina to Mary Katherine and Roy Fletcher Emory.

Maggie was a vibrant and determined woman who lived life to the fullest. She had an entrepreneurial spirit and owned several successful businesses throughout her life. From her marina in Bardwell, Texas to her charming candle shop, Maggie poured her heart and creativity into each venture she pursued. Her dedication and hard work inspired many around her.

One of Maggie's proudest accomplishments was serving on the Bardwell City Council. She was deeply committed to making a positive impact in her community and dedicated countless hours to public service. Her leadership and passion will be forever remembered by those whose lives she touched.

Outside of work and civic duties, Maggie had a wide range of interests and hobbies. She had a talent for creating beautiful fishing jigs that were not only functional but also works of art. Additionally, she delighted in crafting lovey scented candles that brought warmth and serenity into people's homes. Crocheting and sewing were also among Maggie's favorite pastimes. Her skillful hands could transform yarn or fabric into cherished treasures for loved ones.

Family meant the world to Maggie. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Mary Katherine and Roy Fletcher Emory and sister, Mary Salmon. She was a devoted wife of 32 years to her loving husband James "Rick" Walker. Together they created a lifetime of beautiful memories filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. Maggie was also a caring mother to her daughters Christina Duncan (Gerald) and Shawntee Bruyere (Don), as well as her son Carl Walker (Edna). The joy of Maggie's life extended to her cherished grandchildren: Tristan Duncan, Xander Duncan, Lane Cave, Wyatt Cave (Shayla), Rebecca Bruyere, Dakota Walker, Reece Walker, Alyssa Walker, and Lukas Walker. She loved each of them unconditionally and treasured the time spent with them.

Maggie's warm presence and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by her sister, Shirley Bice, and her brothers Roy "JR" Emery and James Emery. She had a special place in her heart for her numerous nieces and nephews who brought much joy into her life.

In addition to her immediate family, Maggie had a close circle of friends who were like family to her. Jerry Figurell, Peggy Smith, Patsi Irsh, Emma Magers, and Vickey Young were always there to offer support, share laughter and create lasting memories with Maggie. Their presence brought immense joy into her life.

The memory of Margaret "Maggie" Walker will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her kind spirit, generosity, and vibrant personality touched the lives of countless individuals. Her legacy of love and determination will continue to inspire us all.

A memorial service will be held on August 5, 2023 at Faith Assembly of God in Ennis, Texas. The service will begin at 4:00 PM to celebrate the beautiful life of Margaret "Maggie" Walker. Friends and family are invited to join together in honoring her memory at this special event. The church is located at 1810 W Baldridge St., Ennis TX 75119.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Maggie's name to a charity that was near and dear to her heart, Shriners will be housing a donation bucket in her memory. 

As we come together to remember Maggie and celebrate the incredible person she was, let us find solace in knowing that she touched our lives in countless ways. Her spirit will continue to guide us as we navigate life's journey without her physical presence. May we cherish the memories we shared with Maggie forevermore.
