Luz M. Ordonez, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away on November 9, 2023, at the age of 85 in Dallas, Texas. She was born on November 12, 1937, in Chiuahua, Mexico. Luz had a fulfilling career as a nurses aid at Arlington Memorial Hospital, where she compassionately cared for countless patients.

Luz led a vibrant life filled with joy and cherished hobbies. She possessed an infectious passion for dancing and spent many happy hours on the dance floor. In addition to her love for dancing, she enjoyed playing bingo and found great excitement in each game. Luz's energy and enthusiasm were always evident, making her a source of laughter and happiness within her tight-knit community.

The impact of Luz's presence extended far beyond her hobbies. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. She had an unwavering commitment to serving others and approached every interaction with empathy and understanding.

Luz leaves behind cherished memories that will forever be treasured by her surviving family members: Her daughters Lucina Sanchez (Thomas) and Celina Torres (Sammy); her sisters Maria Del Rosario Parra (Jose Ordonez), Zenaida Ordonez, and Guadalupe Ordonez; her grandchildren Brenda Sanchez, Angela Perez (Paul), Daniel Sanchez, Victoria Mendoza, Jose Rene Martinez, Brendon Mendoza Sanchez, Samantha Elena Torres; and her great-grandchildren Natalie Morgan Sanchez, Adrian Rodriguez Jr., Andrew Hernandez Castillo, Cristoval Santiago Vasquez, Alexis Maria Flores. 

Luz is reunited in heaven with her mother Elpidia Cano; her other cherished family Eustorgio Ordonez, Olga Silva, and Jose Ordonez. Their love remains steadfast even as their physical presence has transformed into precious memories.

To honor the life of Luz M. Ordonez, a visitation will be held at Skyvue Funeral Home in Mansfield, Texas on November 15, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects and support the grieving family during this time.

A Mass will be celebrated on November 16, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arlington, Texas. The service will begin at 10:30 AM with final respects being paid from 12pm to 12:45 PM at Skyvue Memorial Gardens in Mansfield, Texas. Luz will then be laid to rest in the tranquil surroundings of Skyvue Memorial Gardens.

Luz M. Ordonez touched the hearts of so many during her lifetime. Her kindness, compassion, and vibrant spirit continue to inspire everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. While she may no longer be with us in person, her legacy lives on through the memories we hold dear. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
