Lisa Marie Priest

Jan 7, 1961 — Jun 3, 2025

Manhattan, Kansas

Lisa Priest passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025 in Manhattan Kansas after a valiant battle with metastatic breast cancer.

She was a beacon of creativity and resilience throughout her 64 years of life. Her journey began in the Midwest but her adventurous spirit was born when the family moved to the picturesque landscape of Crested Butte, Colorado and later to Colorado Springs where she developed her lifelong love of the outdoors.

Born Lisa Marie Morgenson on January 7 1961, in Salina, Kansas, the youngest of 4 children, she graduated from William J Palmer High School in Colorado Springs in 1979. She was attending Metropolitan State College in Denver studying graphic arts when she met Mike Priest whom she married later on. In 1981, Lisa and Mike embarked on a memorable treasure hunt adventure during their move to Crowley Texas. Though no riches were discovered, they had an abundance of entertaining stories to share.

In Texas, they combined their entrepreneurial spirit and skills and soon established their own print shop, which they ran successfully for many years. Like a well-oiled machine, their skills carried over to other things, including their weekly tradition of tag-teaming duties on Home Made Pizza night. Lisa's hobbies included woodworking, rock hunting and polishing and were matched by her love for Alaska, a place that captured her heart in her later years. Her travels to the Last Frontier were introduced to her by her childhood friend Andrea and were among some of her most cherished memories. Described by those who knew her best as handy and courageous, Lisa was the epitome of strength. She faced life's challenges with unwavering determination.

Predeceased by her husband, Mike and her parents, Kenneth L. Morgenson and Mary F. Todd, Lisa leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity and perseverance. As we say goodbye to Lisa, her memory will continue to be a source of comfort and joy to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Rest in peace Lisa, your spirit lives on.
