Linnea Anne "Lynn" McAdoo

Linnea Anne “Lynn” McAdoo, 85, passed away January 12, 2026. She was born Linnea Minch on March 5,1940, to Edwin W. and Hazel Minch in Tonawanda, New York.

The adage that someone wasn’t born in Texas but got here as soon as they could truly applied to Lynn.She was training as a flight attendant at the American Airlines stewardess training center in Fort Worthwhen she met her future husband, David Lee McAdoo, on a blind date in 1965; they married in 1966.(Yes, flight attendants were called by that gender-specific name, and they had to quit if they gotmarried.) Dave and Lynn were married for 59 years and lived on their farm in Lillian, Texas, for 50 years.

Before moving to the country, Lynn worked as an Executive Secretary for department heads at companies like Texas Instruments and Portiontrol Foods. Portiontrol, located in Mansfield, supplies prepared foods to Denny’s restaurants nationwide. 

Lynn raised prize-winning Nigerian dwarf goats, and the farm also had horses, cows, chickens, miniature donkeys and a menagerie of other animals. In addition to working on their farm, Lynn was a small business owner, preparing taxes for individuals and organizations in her area.

Lynn was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, David; her brother, Edwin “Butch” Minch Jr.; numerous relatives and a host of friends. She will be remembered as a very hard worker who was devoted to her farm and her family, particularly in hosting July 4 parties every year.
