Linda Gail Caldwell was a loving wife, mother, mawmaw, sister and friend.
She passed away on August 13, 2024, at the age of 63 surrounded by family and friends. Her battle with cancer showed her courage in facing life’s challenges with vigor and a smile. Despite all the trials she faced, she came out more than a conqueror and stayed strong until the very end.
Linda was born on September 16, 1960, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Elton and Betty Teague. She met her beloved husband, Rodney Williard Caldwell, at 15 and they were married for 43 years before his passing. Together they had two children, Rodney (Kane) and Brandon.
Linda was known for her sweet soul, fighting spirit, and her unwavering love and support for her family. Her ready-to-have-fun attitude and love for family gatherings, whether going to dinner or events, hanging out at home, or playing games, was a unifying force in the family. She was not afraid to “bend” the rules in board games, always managing to sneak in a win when playing the card game Speed with her son Brandon. Whether she was in on the prank or the prank was on her, she always got a laugh from her son Kane. Linda spent most weekends going to estate and garage sales, where she could always find a great deal, and spoiling her grandsons with toys and candy.
Linda’s steadfast faith in God's love carried her through any hardship she faced. No matter the situation, she prayed and looked to God to get her through. Some of her final words were, “Thank you, Jesus.”
Linda’s kindness to all and her love for her family will always be remembered and cherished. As we honor her life, we carry forward her spirit, love for family and fun, and belief in the power of God.
