Lillie Ann Griffin, a beloved wife, sister, friend, and trailblazer, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness.
Lillie was the devoted wife of Michael Grady Griffin, with whom she shared 47 wonderful years of marriage. Their love was full of joy, companionship, and countless cherished moments—especially her unwavering delight in laughing at Michael’s jokes. He lovingly says, “Lillie is my queen, and I will always love her.”
A proud graduate of I.M. Terrell High School, Class of 1970, Lillie shined as a Drum Major in the school’s band, showcasing her leadership and vibrant spirit. She continued her education at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she earned her degree and cultivated a lifelong passion for learning and achievement.
Lillie was a dedicated member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., embodying the values of sisterhood, scholarship, and service. She also had an adventurous spirit when it came to technology, always eager to explore the latest digital innovations and use as many gadgets as possible.
Her love for adventure extended beyond technology—after college, she and her roommate Rosalyn traveled across Europe, visiting London, France, and Italy, creating memories that lasted a lifetime.
Lillie’s warmth and generosity touched many lives. She believed in kindness and lived it every day. While hospitalized, she befriended a nurse—a single mother of six boys—who showed her great care. After leaving the hospital, Lillie sent her financial support as a token of gratitude.
Although she always had a fear of pets, her coworkers at Bank of America convinced her to get a Maltese puppy. For the first three days, she wore boots to keep the puppy from licking her ankles—after that, they became inseparable.
Above all, Lillie loved Jesus Christ and lived by the values of respect, kindness, and faith. Her radiant smile and generous heart brought joy to those around her. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
