Mr. Leroy Brooks Sir & Ms. Luella Canton Jones was blessed with a baby boy Leroy Brooks Jr. on February 10, 1967, in San Augustine, Texas.
At around three years of age the family relocated to Fort Worth, Texas. Leroy attended FWISD until graduating from Poly High School. He began taking classes at Tarrant County Junior College for a period. He relocated to Washington, D.C. and eventually moved to Baltimore, Maryland where he went to work for America Airlines. He later moved to Alexandra, Virginia where he made his home for almost 30 years until he found his dream home in Woodbridge, Virginia. He worked for McDonalds more than 31 years, working his way up to being their Operations Assistant for over 20 years until health issues caused him to retire. He then returned home to be with family!
He gave his life to Christ at an early age. He joined Harvey Avenue Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late Pastor, Robert L. Rogers.
Mr. Leroy Brooks, Jr. is preceded in death by both of his parents, Mr. Leroy Brooks, Sr. & Ms. Luella Canton Jones; three sisters, Miss Lina L. Jones, Audriet and Dorothy Brooks; four brothers, Samuel Sylvester, Leonard Ray, Kenneth Earl, Jacquet Lovell Jones; his life long best friend, Mr. Anthony Fantroy.
He leave to cherish his memory 16 loving sisters, Lila F. Anthony (Johnny) of San Augustine, Texas, Mozell Johnson (Winfred) of Longview, Texas, Ms. Anne Marie Tamplin, Lila B. Smith, Kimberlea B. Woods, Claudine Sales (Vincent), Janie Brooks, Yolanda B. Ish (Morris), Veronica B. Wesley (Harry), Monica Brooks, Lashanda Brooks, Sharon P. Davis (Daniel), Pamela Johnson, Laura Lane, Chassidy Young, Debra Battles, Marquisha Hall, and his Sister N Luv, Ms. Vandra E. Jones all of Fort Worth, Texas; 11 devoted brothers Hubert L Jones Sr. (Brenda), John Brooks, James M. Wright, Milton Polley. Arthur Lane Jerry Matlock all of Fort Worth, Texas, Mr. Elroy Brooks (Joyce) of Longview, Texas, Darius Alford of New York, New York , " Joe” Lee More ' James Matlock' of San Augustine, Texas; 1 bonus sister/cousin, Rochelle Canton. He loved his nieces and nephews dearly; as well as a host of aunties, uncles & cousins. LeRoy also loved his friends as though they were family. He built a legacy and relationships throughout his life in Texas, plus the thirty one years living in Maryland and Virginia. (Mr. Carlos Marrero & Family, whom he so dearly loved) as well as Mr. Demond Markhume; Ms. Madeline Nieves; Ms. Denise Gaynor; Mr. Alamos Harrod, whom we are so very grateful for). Ms. Tracy Powell; Mr. Philip Ross; Ronald (Ron), all of whom are from Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia. He cherished every relationship he made. His friends for over 40 plus Years, Ms. Marilyn Jordan, of Texas, Mr. James Richard (JR) & Mr. Arrington Riley of Baltimore, Maryland.
