Laura Alice Fry, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother, graced this world with her presence from April 10, 1952, until her peaceful passing on January 4, 2026, in her hometown of Fort Worth, Texas. Born into a family steeped in love and faith, Laura was the daughter of Robert Bryant Fry Sr. and Dorothy Alice (Etheridge) Fry, who instilled in her the values of compassion and service, virtues she carried throughout her life.
With an unwavering dedication to the art of healing, Laura pursued her registered nurse degree, which she proudly received in 1992. Her passion for caring for others manifested not only in her professional endeavors but also in her generous spirit that was evident to all who knew her. Laura had an innate ability to share her love, particularly with her cherished family, including her daughter Sarah Alice Johnson and her husband Joseph, who provided her comfort and joy in her later years. Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren, Kharley Grace Rowan, Abigayle Walton, and Hunter Bradshaw, along with her great grandson, Rowan Johnson, who were the bright lights of her life.
Laura’s enthusiasm extended beyond her immediate family; she valued her relationships with her brothers Robert Bryand Fry Jr. and his wife Nan, Aaron (Buddy) Franklin Fry Sr. and his wife Debra, and John David Fry Sr., nurturing bonds that were profound and everlasting. The warmth of her heart also enveloped her niece, Brittany Gayle Barnes and her husband Todd, as well as her nephews, John David Fry Jr. and his wife Candice, and Mark Asher Fry and his wife Katherine. Moreover, Laura formed meaningful connections with many other family members and special friends, including Phillip Garcia Jr., Marilyn Sullivan, Paul Dilley, and Sarah Catherine Brannon, each of whom played a significant role in her vibrant life.
Laura’s devotion to her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, as she was a proud member of the Church of Christ, where she found solace and strength. In her leisure time, she embraced her spirituality through reading her Bible and engaging with uplifting Christian videos online, activities that fortified her spirit and resonated with her love for God.
Regrettably, Laura is preceded in death by her beloved parents and her daughter, Annie Paige McDaniel, whose absence left an indelible mark on her heart. She is also reunited with her nephew, Aaron Frankling Fry Jr.
In the hearts of her family and friends, Laura Alice Fry will continue to shine brightly. Her life, rich in love, service, and faith, leaves an enduring legacy that will be remembered and cherished by all whose lives she touched. Farewell, dear Laura, as you embark on your journey beyond, may you find peace and joy in the embrace of the divine.
