Larry Rutledge was born to Floyd Taylor and Sara Lena Rutledge on September 20, 1940, at home on Bessie Street in Ft Worth, Texas. He passed and received his eternal reward on October 3, 2023.
He is survived by his wife, Millie Rutledge. A son Craig Rutledge and wife Renea Rutledge. A daughter Penny Rutledge. Two stepsons Jeremy and David Defibaugh. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also, a brother Billy Rutledge and wife Elaine Rutledge.
Before he was ordained as a Pastor, he was a finished carpenter and he owned and worked in various business endeavors.
He was under Pastor Gary Whetzel Living Word Outreach in Mansfield, TX and Larry was the administrator and Pastor of Living Word Outreach in Waxahachie, TX after he was officially ordained a minister in 1989. He was already operating in the office in both Mansfield and Waxahachie, TX.
His mission was to care for the poor, the needy (both rich and poor) physically, spiritually, and emotionally and to preach the gospel in the purest biblical admonition. He often sang to the Lord while he performed his duties (which to many people, that ministered to them) and when he physically picked up food, clothing, and furniture. He loved his work and dearly loved all people till the very end.
We thank all those who prayed and helped us during his prolonged illness. It was greatly appreciated.
He will be sorely missed by many. To sum up his life, his wife Millie of 34 years stated, “he truly was the most spiritual person I knew”.
Funeral will be a gravesite service Tuesday October 10, 2023, at 2:00 pm.
No flowers please.
