Leonard Jefferson Lane, 84, of Burleson, Texas, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday,
November 10, 2021, at Huguley Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. Viewing and visitation will be Monday,
November 15 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Skyvue Funeral Home in Mansfield, Texas. A graveside service
will be held on Tuesday at 2:00pm at Cope Cemetery.
Leonard delighted in his family and enjoyed telling jokes and playing pranks with his grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. He loved playing dominoes and watching baseball. He had a magnetic charm that
instantly bonded him to both children and adults alike. It was a special experience to be in his light.
Leonard was born to Willie Evan and Minnie Mae (Davis) Lane on March 20, 1937 in Coal County,
Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as sisters Geneva Cunningham and her
husband, Vernon and Lula Mae Rush and her husband, Lynn; brothers Haskel Lane and wife, Lily, Harley
Lane and wife, Alvera, Clifford Lane and wife, Louise, Donald Lane, Truman Lane, James Lane, J.W. Lane
and wife, Louise, Pete Lane; infant brother Alfred Lane; stepson Earl Wayne Albert and step-grandson
James Teague.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Barbara of Burleson; children Bettye Karen Kemper and husband, Mike;
Jeff Lane and wife, Janie; Tammy Cefaly and husband, Paul; Terri Garza and husband, Ruben;
grandchildren Jennifer Kemper La Morte and husband, Marc, Chloe Truax and husband, Richard, Kristina
Bennett and husband, Key, Karen Vella, Loran White and husband, Jatarius, Will Lane and wife, Bridget,
Jordan and Jason Albert, and Shane Garza; great-grandchildren Hayden, Hunter and Hudson Truax,
Emerson and Coleman Lane, Grayson and Jacob Bennett; sister Carolyn Sue Hammer and husband,
Steve; sisters-in-law Mary Lane and June Lane; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
