Lance Allen Wright

Lance Allen Wright Sr. born on June 23, 1969, in Gainesville, Texas, and died July 12, 2025, in Arlington, Texas.

Parents: father, Harvey Allen Wright (deceased), and mother, Betty Cathrine Schneider Wright. One sister, Kathryn Lee Wright Alardin.

After several moves in early childhood, they eventually settled in The Colony in 1976. He attended elementary school in the Lewisville Independent School District and was Class President in Middle School at Peters Colony. During his youth, he was active in soccer, Industrial Arts, and earned recognition for his architectural blueprint designs. A proud “Fighting Farmer,” Lance graduated from Lewisville High School in 1987. A member of the National Honor Society, he also competed nationally with his team in the “Olympics of the Mind.”

After High School, he attended the University of Texas at Arlington. He transferred his junior year and finished his education in Austin at the University of Texas where he graduated with a BA in Arts, majoring in Political Science.

Lance was proud of his Choctaw roots, and He loved Oklahoma football from a young age but then went to UT for his degree. He often wore clothing colored from each school during daily life, but especially while watching the Red River Rivalry. He cheered for both teams but always rooted for the team that was doing the best that season.

After meeting briefly through mutual friends at a young age, Lance and Christine Michelle Black reconnected in May of 1994. They got married on April 22, 1995, and he became a father to Christian Troy Daniel. They went on to have seven children together: Lance Allen Wright Jr., Philip Thomas Wright, James Neill Wright, Catherine Grace Wright, Reagan Elizabeth Wright, Molly Christine Wright, and Abigail Rose Wright.

He started working in the print business for Robert Best in the summers during college. On May 1, 1995, he started his own printing business, MS Dallas. They moved back to Arlington from Grand Prairie in 1996. He stayed at MS Dallas until 2006 and began employment at Thomas Printworks until he passed in 2025.

Growing up, his family was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where he was actively involved.

He gave his life to Jesus on February 28, 1997, at Tate Spring Baptist Church where he was a member from 1995 to 2020. While he was there, he led Awana for 4th-6th grade boys; from 2002 to 2005, he was a foster dad for twenty-six babies with The Gladney Center for Adoption. He was an active American Heritage Girls registered dad from 2018 to 2025, with his daughters. Throughout the years, he attended Bible Study Fellowship at First Baptist Arlington, and in 2021, he joined Matthew Road Baptist Church. Alongside his wife, he taught 2–3-year-old preschool Sunday School until 2025.

He loved to get away with Christy every year for their anniversary, always trying out a new Bed and Breakfast spot across Texas. On their big anniversary milestones, they tended to travel further distances. In their time together they traveled the United States and abroad to Jamaica, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Denmark, Sweden, Scotland, Ireland, and Northern Ireland.

His hobbies were his family, watching college football, reading fantasy and military techno-thriller novels, watching movies with his family and T.V. (especially the series “Castle”).

He is survived by:

His mother, Betty C. Wright; his sister, Kathryn Alardin; and his wife, Christine Wright.

His sons: Christian and wife Sharon, Lance and wife Kera, Philip and wife Grace, and James.

His daughters: Catherine, Reagan, Molly, and Abigail.

His grandchildren: Violet Oertwich, Jacob Daniel, Annastasia Wright, Ellanor Wright, and baby girl due any day (name tbd).

Lance’s life was marked by devotion—to his God, his family, and his community. He leaves a lasting legacy of love, humility, and quiet strength.
